October 2016 Featured Artists Reception

Art Lovers enjoyed a beautiful evening at a reception featuring the art of Bess Duston, Loreta Feeback and Robin Richerson on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Images Art Gallery, 7320 W. 80th St., Overland Park, Kansas. Their work will be featured until November 12.

About the featured artists:

“Most of my work in watercolor is concentrated on flowers,” Bess Duston said, whose works in oil and watercolor will be featured. “I work mostly from photographs I have taken. Because my work is very detailed, it takes many hours to complete each piece. I look for strong constrast in the work that I do, as well as intense color, and therefore use many layers in order to achieve the color strength that I am looking for.

“My work has been in several juried exhibitions locally, and in several competitions in Kansas and Missouri.

“My watercolor painting titled “Abundance” was published in The International Artist magazine. I am a signature member of the Missouri watercolor Society.”

Robin Richerson’s sculptures include his official Evolution of the University of Kansas Jayhawk. Richerson’s ICON Artworks’ Jayhawk Desktop Sculptures are eight inches tall, including a marble base that can be laser engraved and customized for any occasion. ICON Artworks can be commissioned to create sculptures in most any size. Because cast bronze is timeless and pewter does not rust or deteriorate, the sculptures can be enjoyed for generations.

Loreta Feeback said of her pastel painting work: “Pastels: So many beautiful colors – so many ways to use them.

An awesome way to paint. Using any medium of choice I create patterns and design with glorious colors that radiate into an abstraction of shapes and forms often discovering an image.”
