2016 Children’s Art Show Reception

GerardyFamilyMore than 150 art lovers enjoyed the 2016 Children’s Art Show at Images Art Gallery on Friday, Feb. 19. There were 37 drawings and paintings and two sculptures in the 10th annual show.

“We had a good crowd of the little artists themselves along with their parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters and friends from all over the metropolitan Kansas City area…a real night of family fun,” said Norma Herring, an Images Art Gallery member, who organized the show.

School Districts and groups represented were Kansas City, Missouri Charter School; Olathe; Blue Valley; Shawnee Mission; Kansas School for the Deaf; Jackson County and Johnson County 4-H; and several Catholic schools. There was also one Pre-Kindergarten painting.

The artists are encouraged to participate next year in this fun event, and it’s not too early to start working on next year’s art entry, Norma said.

Also on display are the People to People International Children’s Art Murals, which is a traveling exhibition.
